Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
Put on my face
The way I dressed today
Feel like you tonight
On my day
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday
Remember the time
We stood there by the lake
Watching boats and waves
Pretty white clouds
The sun will sweat
In fact the song begins
Trees are your skin
On my tongue
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday
Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
You, me and more
We bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, we might as well
Melt into Sunday
La la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
We know you’re, you’re not how it seems
Don’t have a point
You’re not there for the stay
When I will wish you could
Wish that you were there
You could
You’re dying in here
You could be here soon
You stumble on a river

For me it just comes up where the trailer was. I think they've just replaced it? It starts with the hands doing the Goldfrapp stamp bit then goes into the video.
I could not get the video to show/play on Internet Explorer at all. It did work on Firefox however.
It is frigging glorious!
You can download the video at full 1920x1080 from the youtube page.
Low said:
maybe it'll just take a while to update. Whenever the trailer was uploaded, I still saw the old portal site for about an hour before it changed.
Can I just repeat, for anyone waiting for the video to load - on the Goldfrapp website... if you are using Internet Explorer (IE 10 in my case)... I waited a long time and it never appeared. (No amount of refreshing helped.) Whereas with Firefox (ver 20), it loaded/played within seconds.
This may be due to HTML5 incompatibilities with IE, as rewak mentioned.

My interpretation is they're naked because they're either dead, imaginary, or just memories, which is why the keep appearing and disappearing in the video. When Alison walks into the room at the end of the video and see's herself standing at the window with the people in bed then begins to shed her clothes that's a sign that either she's died or she's entered her imaginary world again (either a fantasy world, a memory she wants to change, or some kind of split personality going on). But that's just my opinion.

They engage in pillow fights, leave the stairs cluttered like children normally would, play with toy planes--pretty much just frolic all throughout the video. Essentially, I think Alison is playing Drew, who is taking a walk down memory lane with past friends (just with the current image of his past friends).
Not that my interpretation is right LOL. I'd love to see what Alison/Will/Lisa have to say about the video's theme.

i think it also would have better echoed the artwork we've seen so far - the promo photos and the album cover are all quite black.

I can sure understand where you are coming from, HB. It's like I was saying in another thread, I kinda miss the old days when Disney and G-rated movies were the only game in town. But, really, this doesn't bother me near as much as some things from the past. At least it's humans in it. And, it was done with a LOT more class and taste than some of the stuff from the past. I guess, personally, I can always right off the video and I think the show will be very classy but, of course, that is just a guess.Bells said:

Drew is so keen on switching the moods,it starts with something pleasant and cosy,a bit reminiscent of monster love(like someone already noticed) then those incredible strings and then the atmosphere is getting a tad tense and colder and of course this vocalizing after 3:48 gives me chills.

I have no problem at all with sexualised references or imagery. Except when it's exploitative. Which BC/Supernature wasn't.
Er...or when it's "tasteful". For me, the Drew video uses too many cliches - the discarded undies on the stairs, the feathery pillow fight - ugh! Lazy shortcuts in place of original, emotionally real imagery.
Luckily, I dont really care about the video, and the music is great.

It was a comedians observation (cant recall who) , which I noticed as my Mrs dared me to run up and down the garden (covered in 6 inches of snow) naked . After 1 minute I resembled an out of shape Ken doll .
Its not "sexy" because of the nudity. Im not fussed by that its the medias reaction to the nudity that will be such a cliché.
It would still be better if Chris Cunningham did it.

The back of the Drew Promo cd says "Strings arranged by Nick Ingram . Strings recorded by Gary Thomas at Angel Studios assisted by Jeremy Murphy"
On Drew.
Someone on utube described the video as "the art of memory".. totally, yes.. but still, i couldn't help think that, given the video which flashes back and forth, and the arrangements, that there is both past/a remembrance and present/now sense of time happening simultaneously.. compositionally, much of the song is melancholic/in a memory but it's at the parts when alison sings "in my bones" that the notes become happy and light, as if to suggest a newness, (re)discovering... the video dramatises this with alison descending the staircase in the beginning, to ascend it and join the lovers at the end... when then there seems to be two alison's.. as if memory and the present coalesce, resulting in that smile in the forest...
and there's the difference between the low contrast (memory/dream state) B&W and the high contrast (the present/the bike ride)..

I mean goodness! With TWO videos out and Drew promos out I don't see why they are not doing something remotely like that to push the release. They are missing SO many opportunities and SO much momentum to link material directly to pre-orders/sales the way they've been doing it since it was announced. Drew should have been out the second they released the video and pressed the promos. At the same time they should have launched pre-order now and download Drew, something they could have pushed in the App that followed etc. and then Annabel a week before release? If there is nothing but a dry release next week, Annabel should have been released on the day of release to push the availability of the album at that date.
Marketing. Is anybody listening?!
Drew not out. Monday it is then.
