My post count is still stuck on 106. There's something a bit discouraging about being credited with only 106, no matter how often I post. My post count was stuck on 4, then leapt up to somewhere around 50, then (ages ago)106.

Hmm, my post-count seems to actually be incrementing correctly today!?

This should take me to 1352. [EDIT: yes, it did]

Can someone else check theirs please? You can check/compare it in at least 3 places:
1) at the top of any individual post
2) on the list of top posters (if you're on it)
3) on your profile page

After posting, you'd need to go back to the main page, I think... to have it update the count. [EDIT: refreshing the page also works for me]

PS : I'm using Firefox v 25.0.
EDIT: It also incremented OK using Internet Explorer (v 11)

My post count is still at 106, where it's been for ages. Going to the main page doesn't help, nor does refreshing the page.

I don't know about Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc. This computer is on Google chrome, but I'm not sure whether that's the same kind of thing.

Yes, chrome is a browser, a 3rd alternative to IE or Firefox.

My count always clocks continuously. It just seems like certain users (heck, I don't know. Maybe all of those with odd numbered id's?) move in fits and starts.

if i use chrome my count never moves....
i just use standard windows internet explorer & all o.k post count changes with every post. :)

So it does. I predict that it will continue to be stuck at that total (which I don't think is correct, anyway) for a long time.

Thanks for your feedback, guys.

It does look as if the post-count issue might relate to the browser people are using (ie Chrome: slow catch-up, Firefox: works fine, IE: maybe ok?)

I will install Chrome later and try that myself.

I've just had a thought about defeating spam.

In so far as I've observed them, spambots almost always start a new thread when they post. A lot of spam could be excluded if new members had to post several times before they could start a new thread. I have no idea about computer technicalities, but it ought to be possible to do that.
