horus: prince of the sun - an old anime from the 60's. hayao miyazaki worked on it. it was ok i guess. the most interesting thing about it was watching the animation quality do sine waves over the course of the film

fehérlófia (son of the white horse/mare) - an animated hungarian film based on hungarian folktales. finally found a version with english subtitles. gorgeous, unique animation style and a cool story

A Damsel in Distress. The lovely Joan Fontaine, Fred Astaire, Burns and Allen... a score that includes Nice Work if You Can Get It and A Foggy Day in London Town. What's not to like? Of course, like the Fred and Ginger musicals, the storyline is no more than a gossamer shred of flimflam -- but, if that bothers you, you're missing the point.

Sat in the cinema (the half hour of adverts are on) waiting for Gravity 3D to begin. Looks like Sandra will have no problem keeping over 40mph this time. I expect the film to be a wooting tooting eye wank.

Gravity 3D - Well that was "fucking intense" , there are so many scenes that grip and pull at your nerves and heart it's like a 3D celluloid S&M nerve wanking machine. Bloody , bloody , enjoyable , probably not suitable for anyone that is cynical , has a short attention span or needs a poo though .

I haven`t seen any hype as I generally don`t read papers or entertainment sites , but to concur with HolyOwl above , its worth every penny of paying for the 3D version , its mildly sickening in places at the start ...but its a device that pulls you into the film (stopped shovelling popcorn at that point) . I won`t spoil anything about the film , its a masterpiece and a "hell of a story to tell" .

i really liked it. wasnt expecting to as i don't hold out much hope for animated followups (or any sequel/prequel for that matter), but yeah. was good! :)
