@whisperit... Fenland Phil @Fenlander62 sadly came across a dead barn owl. It was "ringed". He was wondering if/where he should report/take it. Any advice?

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
In my defence, M'lud, I had this image ready to go before HJ posted about the unfortunate Barn Owl. Noble creatures. Mrs T had one roost in the eaves of her studio when it was being built.

I guess it falls into this post's category as well as a few others, like "how do you feel today". Of course, that post seemed to often be a place for grim views. Anyways,...
Spied this beauty on the way to work this evening. She was much more striking from the other side with a church steeple in the background. Her other half was hopping around on the ground, but I couldn't get the two of them in the shot together. I'd heard them cacking about this morning, but I wouldn't have thought of it again had I not come across them later.
I couldn't find a suitable thread to post this picture in really, but because (s)he is so cute, this is a rescued seal pup we met this week, along with his / her mates on the East coast. This was on the 34 degrees day - so hard not to jump in the water with it I can tell you!
