Digging up this thread to mention that Will was on with Stuart Maconie this morning about his Moog ensemble. Maconie couldn't resist asking about the current Goldfrapp situation. Will's response was much of the same of what we've heard before:
- They're taking a "long break" after 7 albums
- They're both enjoying solo projects that he feels is "well earned" (I agree)
- And the usual "who knows?" in answer to when there will be a new Goldfrapp album with the two of them.
So... before 2030?
:))
I'm glad they both seem happy. But I really don't see the 8th Goldfrapp on the horizon at all.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
I made a comment to one of Alison's post on Instagram about digging out their back catalogue. I don't think there's any shame in re-releasing stuff. As long as it's something special. We've had the anniversary coloured vinyl releases (yet to get Tales & Silver Eye) but there are a lot of B-Sides and rarities that have never really had a physical release, or a release where everything is all together in one neat package. Little Death still hasn't had a studio recording release, which I think is just criminal, as it's a belter of a song!
And as much as Alison wasn't really a fan of The Singles, I'd still love for a special vinyl edition release that almost came to reality but was cancelled at the last minute.
