The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
I know an old lady who swallowed a spider, she swallowed the spider to catch the fly- I don't know why she swallowed the fly, I'll guess she'll die. (what an absolutely morbid kid's song we used to sing!)
U R I E L What is done in the dark will always come to light
From Wiki The song was written by Rose Bonne (lyrics) and Canadian folk artist Alan Mills and copyrighted in 1952. At that time it was entitled simply "I Know an Old Lady.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a spider; That wriggled and wiggled and tickled inside her!
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a bird; How absurd to swallow a bird!
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a cat; Fancy that to swallow a cat!
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady that swallowed a dog; What a hog, to swallow a dog!
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat, She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a goat; She just opened her throat and swallowed a goat!
She swallowed the goat to catch the dog, She swallowed the dog to catch the cat, She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a cow; I don't know how she swallowed a cow!
She swallowed the cow to catch the goat, She swallowed the goat to catch the dog, She swallowed the dog to catch the cat, She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! There was an old lady who swallowed a horse...;
...She's dead, of course!

Very sad. So young. So handsome! And by hanging. That's desperate ( unless accidental in some auto asphyxiation sketch a la Michael Hutchence)/David Carradine). Did a cover of Black Hole Sun once with moi on vocals.

Saw the name and instantly knew I recognised it from 'Know My Name', the Casino Royale Bond tune. Always a shame when it comes to taking your own life, RIP Chris.
