Here's a shot of our local library, taken a few weeks ago when there were leaves on the trees. It's a repurposed olde telephone box (for our American or other non-Brit friends). You takes a book and leaves a book. It's in the next village.
Currently, our local is the South of France. We are on a road trip from Carcassone near the Spanish Border to Nice and the Monte Carlo for the historic Grande Prix. Will post some pics. Carcassonne is a Medievel walled city once under the control of the Knights Templer. Some Medievel humour.

Pierré has always been in the shadow of his more famous Sister, Claire.

Back in France again and made the annual pilgrimage to Saint Emilion. Climbed the Tower de Roi to get this view over the town. We can play a game of 'Where's Wally/Waldo as Mrs T and Mrs Appy61 are in this pic !

Easy girlie or I'll come over there and pinch your neck! Did I ever tell you that Martin Handsford, who created Where's Wally/Waldo, is married to Mrs T's cousin? Very quiet, shy and retiring guy.

Apart from the stripy scarf and wooden hat of course.

For the next 72 hours, all posts will be coming from Amsterdam !! Windmills, Dykes, Edam cheese etc. Avoiding the 'spendies' !

This became more of a cryptic travelogue post in the end rather that I live in xxxx which I thought may be useful. The recent gigs and Music Glue issues have thrown out a few surprises.

Well, this last week, our local has been Italy around the bay of Naples, staying just above Sorrento. Done a lot of culture, visiting Herculaneum, Pompeii and a lesser known villa in the area called Oplontis that was discovered much later than the other two so excavated more sympathetically. It's murals are particularly fine so if you ever do a visit to this area to visit the archeological sites, make sure you include it. Took many photos in all three sites which will need some processing so I will upload to Flickr and post a link in due course. In the meantime, here's a couple of pictures from Herculaneum where people tried to shelter from the bombardment from Versuvius in the store rooms around the docks, only to be suffocated by the fumes and buried by the ash for nearly 2000 years. Rather moving and sad to see these poor souls huddled together as they faced their last moments.

Then I noticed this beautiful lizard amongst the bones.
