  • James Best, aka Rosco P Coltrane

I just saw him last night in "The Grave," a 1961 episode of The Twilight Zone.

Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

  • B.B.King.  A giant and a legend of the music industry.  Over 50 albums; 15 Grammy Awards and an estimated 15,000 concerts during his life and, in all this time, he could not play chords !
I was privaliged to visit Memphis some years ago and visited his club called, prosaically, BB King's Blues Club.  Here, they serve beer in jam jars, as that was what they drank out of in the 'good old days' and this tradition continues.  We met Preston Shannon that night as he was playing the club and Mrs Appy got him to sign a CD.
The music world is a smaller place tonight but somewhere has got one hell of a guitarist !

  • Christopher Lee. Now that would be a strange person to see in Heaven !
Peter Cushing and Vincent Price have set another place at their table tonight !

  • I am very sad. My childhood hero and an icon since I was 6 has died tonight. Patrick Macnee, AKA John Steed from the Avengers.
My yardstick for charm, style, chivalry and sauvity. He showed that every Gentleman respected women, always had a furled umbrella and a bowler hat with a steel lining !
Rest in peace dear friend who I never met. Your example will always be with me.
    RIP Patrick.

  • I have one of those covert coats with the suede collar by the way ! And an umbrella but no Bowler with a steel inning. I wonder if Amazon do them?

  • I was tempted to put this site.  Really weird when it seems the site has picked up and all that has happened is a couple of people have posted for the first time in awhile.  I wonder if the owners are celebrating?
