Sad news for old style British comedy lovers with the death of Lance Percival on 6 January 2015 :(
50's icon Anita Ekberg passes away on 11 January after years of decline in her health :(
My heart mostly goes out to the victims of the terrible tragedy in Paris of course. May the families find solace in the support of so many people around the World that are standing by them and the principles of freedom of speech. Je Suis Charlie and Je Suis Ahmed
Condolences @Pet. Never easy to lose a sibling or a parent. Makes you consider your own mortality.

He appeared in the Ashes to Ashes video. This should be played at his funeral, ending with Fade to Grey as the curtains close.

I attended another funeral today - my second of the year already and for an old work colleague. I find these irksome affairs and this has left me quite maudlin all day. I had to go for a coffee and a slice of coffee and walnut cake, and its attendant suger rush, to cheer myself up. At least Dennis had a reasonable innings. 76 and 12 years post retirement, most of which he spent going on foriegn holidays; 8 in the last year alone, the last being a cruise around the islands of Japan. Who said retirement is a gateway to a life of making ends meet and poverty? Not if you get your act straight ! His creed was 'life is not a rehearsal and you are a long time dead, so make the most of it while you have it' Wise words Dennis, wise words. We always say that, at the end, when your life is rushing before your eyes, make sure you have plenty to look at ! Then we left to Elgar's Nimrod, which was nice. I really must start that funeral music thread. I feel better now. Carpe Diem all.

Leonard Nimoy 83. His longest voyage now begins! He lived long. He prospered. ( I'm doing the bit with the fingers !)
