  • I imagine that has something to do with emotions. They are hard to grasp, aren't they? What darkness is to one person may well be beauty to another person. On this forum I have read that several people claim they start to cry when they hear a TOU track. I do not have that experience myself, but I can imagine what they mean. I guess music touches some sort of personal emotion or something.
  • Clay definitely choked me up, and I saw people crying at the gig. Stranger, for some reason made me catch my breath when I saw it live. I think TOU is essentially a mourning album (for obvious reasons) with a lot of grief translated into stories and symbols.

Anyway, here's the pic. It's not very good but the best I could do before the media darlings abseiled through the windows and wrestled me to the floor. It's amazing how many presidential assassinations I'll admit to after being forced to listen to Beyonce.

    Probably.

  • Thanks Spark!!
  • The Bernini statue was the most beautiful human artefact I have ever seen, btw.

You've yet to see the Laocoon then.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • The red metallic apples are so Supernature. It's Anya Gallacio's Rêvons d' or and is solid bronze. Not my taste in sculpture but a massive symbol of nature, intrusion and temptation.

    You're right. I wish....
  • I went yesters. It ws great. I thought it'd b shit but it wasnt. It was better than the House of Annie Lennox as it focused on what's influenced her and not a collection of her outfits or whatever. Maaan she must have some chinz in her house tho. I too snuck a pic of the tree. There was a good music of Manchester exhibition on as well 1960s+ id recommend that too if ur going.

I also tolerated the Imperial war museum across rd as there were 2 photo exhibitions on. Dont bother climbing the 164 steps to the viewing platform as you canne view shit from it.
  • Awesome reviews Sparky, thank you so much.
I will definitely be going along at some point :)

    Rach, just awesome, as usual.

  • There's a full page review in today's Sunday Mail magazine 'Event'. Mainly positive with a lovely photo of Alison from a few years ago.

  • COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of the displayed items are somewhat disturbing, but they're cool nevertheless!

Alison Goldfrapp disturbs and astounds me in equal measure. Before I originally joined the message board in 2003..I found her doing lesbian porn that correlated with her Black Cherry release. So.."who is she?" Who better to tell us than herself.

  • Lesbian porn? Not sure I've heard of this.....?
  • Maybe she'll explain it someday.

  • Never heard of Alison doing this. You guys joking?
  • Well, she did things to the nipples of that cow..
I take the needle off the Technics and put it in my vein

Oh, come on Pony. Why don't you tell it, then?
Look, we're all Alison fans so you can't shock us, right?

Howdy, Stranger!
