Really good to see people again, and sorry to have missed some new friends while meeting new ones.
Personal highlights Lovely Head and Yellow Halo, but thought the TOU material worked really well live ...
... but IMO it's so very difficult to work it in with the rest of their material which is so very different. Little Bird (Lasers! Blue lasers! wierd light FX!! ) made an excellent cross over for me, and I do have a weakness for progrockish stuff.

i haven't written a full report, cos I'm still on my travels/mobile, but hopefully tomorrow. Needless to say, meeting up with old friends... and one new (Norwegian) one was a highlight of the night! :-) -

I got a nomination for most creative use of a walking aid, courtesy of the people sat (stood) behind me in the circle. Next time I will tie a Frapp flag to it.
After a punishing journey, I was on the verge of just lying down in my hotel room when I finally got to London. Glad I didn't.
I loooved the prog/trance-type noodling bits that extended Little Brd, Train etc, and the laser show. Fab.
Yellow Halo really does work well live - better than the studio version - but I reckon only a couple of the TOU tracks (Alvar is a good example) really coped with the big space and big amplification - the soundscape of TOU is too subtle to withstand the distortion and muddying you get in a venue like the Apollo.
Still, it was a great gig.

Not entirely sure what they meant by *overzealous 'chaps' )???
Pity they could not find a more accurate photo to boot! It also makes them sound like they can be hired for weddings/ christenings etc :)

Good review if slightly patronising and lazy to not even bother using a current photo.
As for over zealous chaps, if people have paid their money and want to have a good boogie and cheer and clap etc then good for them. I'd rather that than people yapping all evening. I wanted to get up right from the first song and take part but took into consideration people behind me. Once I saw those guys get up I thought fuck it, I'm doing the same. It's a gig not a bloody wake. Journo tossers.
