    After the last couple of spam influxes I did some reading up at whether actually posting on such threads makes any difference. Seems some of them are checked at a given interval after posting to see if a) they're still there and b) if they generated interest.

    That's why I mentioned that maybe we should just delete them. We had a wave of a certain spam type (the great big long news story type) and after a while they stopped. I'm hoping we can now do the same with the "I'm new" ones.

    I can see a pile of them but my network at work is a bit limited at the mo so will look in again later this afternoon and try to chomp them down then. Just letting folks know they're in hand, even if still there for an hour or two!

    Just managed to get some bandwidth and chomped the four we had.

    Seemed slow loading the threads up in question but a lot quicker clicking straight from the front page to their user profiles so snared them that way instead.
