The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

The Steadfast Tin Soldier (sometimes called The Brave Tin Soldier) was a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen. It was adapted thematically for the cover art for Erasure's second single, Heavenly Action, in 1985, and in line with similar art for their album Wonderland.

I found it rather iconic, and when searching for a username to use as part of the burgeoning 90s online Erasure fan community, it sprang to mind. I used it here when joining the old GMB, and to a small extent in other online synth fora/communities. :)
