  • Clovelly looks very nice.
  • Well, as long as I'm on the theme.  Did you know that there was a reason why some hatters went mad?  Had something to do with mercury in the process.
  • What were they doing with the mercury?
  • Dunno.  Making their hats shiny?
  •  Mercury was used in the processing of fur into felt.

  • Erethisim mercurialis was the disease, more commonly known as Mad Hatters Disease. Mercury was used in the felting process to stabilise the wool and the vapours caused this neurological disorder, which caused tremor, pathological shyness and irritability.
See here. Every day's a school day!

  • The glues being used in hat making were equally toxic. Then you stuck this poisoned contraption on your head.
    Nice!

  • It's this concept of multiculturism and globalisation that so scares the old guard. It threatens their historic power bases and, with that, their fortunes. Brexit is a manifestation of this issue. Britain after all, along with its near European neighbours, were instrumental in the displacement of whole communities during their Empire eras, a process that had started well before with the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans; it is just that the European powers carried it out on an industrial scale.
POC came to the UK as part of this process ( be it either through Slavery or on the Windrush) to undertake work that the indigenous population no longer saw as fitting work and to expect, as some do, that these people will now just vanish back where they, or their ancestors came from is, frankly, as ludicrous as it is economically suicidal. Persons of non UK decent make up over 10% of the workforce of institutions like the NHS and it would not run without them.

  • ^ So odd to think Henry was a serial killer. He infected his wives with venereal disease, which caused stillbirths and eye problems in all his surviving children. A big, fat, STD ridden serial killer..instead of being romanticized and venerated by history, he should have been burned with a stake up his arse and thrown into the Thames. This world has got it all wrong.

  • He was merely a tool of the misogynist conspiracy.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • His tool was diseased, a product of the times. Too bad it didn't kill him earlier.

(-I read a priest had one saved Hitler's life as a young boy, now that was a product of the misogynist conspiracy. )

  • "Tool"? This is most certainly misandry at work.
