  • Ive had a glass of wine. Seriously considering going back for that vinyl!

Been wandering and listening all day. 'love of my life' certainly evoking some PJ Harvey kInd of thoughts and feelings. Also, wandering into 'sleater-kinney' world I would say - on that track, which is more 'grungy' than I expected Any of the album to be! (I like a bit of feedback every now and then)
The strings are beautiful on One Breath, and the comintation of her unique style, plus the slightly grungy guitars AND strings combination towards the end of Carry Me Over.

I truly think it's incredible. It is more than I could have ever expected, and considering she made it in about a tenth of the time she made the first album... Well, I take my hat off.
  • There is obviously a word which makes absolutely no sense in my post above. I will not backtrack - I am writing as and when I feel I can about the thing haha!
  • I have it on cd.
Feb 6th Manchester. Tickets on sale tomorrow. GET IN. Got the e-mail newsletter.

As per bloody usual there is nothing for miles from where I live. The nearest for me is Birmingham but once again means I shall have to book at least half day holiday from work to get there on time as I hate rushing as I get travel sick!
  • is that the same manchester albert hall Frapp performed at back in july?

    Love Goldfrapp.....

Indeed it is the same as far as I know. I'm tempted but then again I'm tempted with Brighton. My nearest is Birmingham even though "institute" makes it sound a bit off putting. Maybe you need to wear a white coat during the gig :-?

    Hope you enjoy it!

Big thanks Tommie for posting this. A great interview and a couple of new pictures. One of them does make it look like she's auditioning to be the next Doctor Who. LOL :D
  • Tickets on sale 9am this morning. <:-P
  • I am going to the Manchester one.
    JAMIE CARRAGHER= LEGEND
  • Two tickets booked for Birmingham as my nearest.
  • Well i hope to be going to the Manchester one. I arranged for my Mum to get the tickets for me online. (i will not do any money business on the laptop at home because of the kids/their friends. Lets just say i had a issue). But it says the person who pays collects them on the night. My Mum is not going. So if they do not allow personal callers i will not be going. I do not know why they cannot all go back to the old way of issuing tickets. Even in football now they are at it. If you buy a ticket for Bolton in the weeks/days before it. You print them yourself. No worries there, You can just pay on the day, There is plenty of room.

  • Brighton for me. Got tix this morning. The All saints church is BEAUTIFUL for music - saw Ms O Sullivan do 2 nights there last year in the Brighton festival & it was fabulous.

And only 14 quid each ticket - good on you Anna.
  • :-O wowsers £14 for a ticket i might go the manchester gig, i'm not a real fan but it's a nightout.....
    Just Keep Things Simple.....
    Love Goldfrapp.....
  • Don't know if they'll all that much of a bargain, might be a brighton thing, but I'm very impressed / pleased, as judging by recent times she'll have no trouble selling tickets & I was expecting about 25 quid to be honest. Love.
  • Toying with the Brighton gig - yes yes I know I can't dither long - but it's a work night so....

OK Postman Pat rocked up with the record this morning. So first reactions from me are it's very good indeed - better than her first record, IMO, because somehow it sounds more individual and reflective of her and her depth'n'breadth of talent than the first one.

It's also gayer than a very gay thing.

More daring in the arrangements and better lyrics too compared to the first record. So better songs overall.  Many many individual touches that make the songs.

Actually if I was gonna make a comparison it would be with Jeff Buckley for the wide range of material, musicianship and commitment/lack of inhibition.

Bloody hell, two fantastic records in four weeks.
