I walked into the kitchen this evening to see a Blackbird spatchcocked on the floor. I was berating the cat for his heartlessness as I bent to pick it up - only to find it was a black glove.
So I spose there's a little nest of baby mittens going hungry tonight.
Yes, while Ive been away Ive been at it again. Several weeks ago a friend phoned me in a panic as she had found 3 tiny hog lets that had seemingly been abandoned / had lost their mum. We rescued them and I took them to the Hedgehog Angel Angela. Sadly, the weakest didn't survive past 3 days, but the other 2 (they were all female) have been doing well and we are going to release them this evening.I don't have a pic of them to show but they each weighed a mere 70g when they were found.
Catherine found this little cutie, who we have called Orinoco due to him / her having a very long womble snout! (S)he is residing in my office until (s)he gets fatter then I can release him in a few weeks time.(S)he is eating like a horse and doing really well.

All spiders are venomous. However, tarantula venom, at least that of the Arizona Blond Tarantula, is practically innocuous to humans--less harmful than a beesting. Besides, they will avoid human contact at all cost. They are, indeed, precious. Eek! simply strolls along the garden wall while I'm swimming under the stars. All creatures, great and small...
