The Hundred Foot Journey. Absolutely superb. Thank you for introducing me to so many very fine films. I must say, though, that The Hundred Foot Journey is, by far, my favourite, Really, really heartwarming.
And, yes, on everything you say about Educating Rita.
That's another one that really surprised me. Jane Eyre. I really, really enjoy reading that. It reminds me of sitting in front of a nice warm fireplace. And, I love the backstory about Charlotte Bronte. There aren't a lot of those old stories that I enjoy at all. I couldn't even get through Wuthering Heights.
So, I ran across something you might like, Serenity. I don't think you mentioned the Starz TV mini-series called White Princess? It looks pretty good. It's about Elizabeth of York, Henry VII and the end of the War of Roses. I haven't watched it through. I'm saving it for winter when I probably will be looking for something good to watch. It was based on a novel by Phillppa Gregory, whom you had mentioned. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Sorry if you had already mentioned it.
I guess on Starz, if you happen to get that (not even sure what Starz is, really) or, maybe, netflix? I bought the DVD set (it's like 7.5 hours). I don't really have TV, as such. Discs are all I watch and way too much of that.
To anyone who is even considering going to see Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Please don't. I went to see it yesterday. It was tripe. Utter tripe. Colin Girth was under-used in every way. Way too much CGIaction but very little in terms of a real substantiated story.
Far too much effing and blinding.
And an Elton John cameo.
Please bring back James Bond but replace Daniel Craig with someone who has more charm.
Ah! Someone else that despises game of thrones. Thank you for that.
So, do you like "The White Princess" so far. I still haven't gotten around to watching more than the first few minutes. It looked good from that brief glimpse.
Some of the scenes are a bit sexually violent. Poor Elizabeth of York had to marry the King to bridge the peace, but in the beginning hates his guts. As i say I've only just tuned in so who knows what happens next
When she slapped him right across the face in the bedchamber i was like Go on Girl. Give him a belter!!
