That's what it appears to me. It's not the invites, it's the bit of the site that generates and sends emails.
If someone uses your @username in a message, you should get an email, as you should if someone sends you a PM. These were working about a week ago but I guess not now.
Let's try. Let me know if you get this as an email notification @jonyc
