Went to the Eurosonic festival last thursday and friday. Highlights were Rökkurró, Young Karin, Isaac Delusion, Kiasmos, My Bubba and Soldier's Heart. But the absolute best and biggest surprise for me was the 18 year old Norwegian Aurora Aksnes. Didn't know her but she just blew me away with her wonderful voice, songs and charm. The venue was packed and everyone was silent during songs (which is kind of rare at a Festival gig). Music-wise she made me think of Lykke Li, Emma Louise, Anna Ternheim, Ellie Goulding and Emiliana Torrinni.
I just attempted and failed Roisin Murphy ticket presale. Who ever invented the concept of pre sales I hope you drown in a grain cyclone. Yours sincerely, me.
Curtis Stigers next Wednesday at the Westcliffe Theatre in Clacton with the Appy's. Expecting some cool Sax #Stiilkeepingitoldschool. (That was Sax by the way :O) )

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
Tonight at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds, the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra. Mozart Don Giovanni Overture, Sibelius Violin Concerto and Brahms Symphony No 4. Light and shade, Yin & Yang.

Well, we saw Curtis Stigers (@curtisstigers on twatter) and I have to say, he, and his band were f*cking awesome ! The band were tighter than acute vaginismus and Curtis was so smooth; well, he was like an egg wrapped in teflon and dipped in lube ! Witty between songs, with some great tales about his life and career, who he has worked with, wrote songs with etc, and then this fantastic set of songs; some his own, others standards, all delivered with aplomb and great virtuosity.
He is on a short tour of the country in Feb doing small venues. £28 well spent on a ticket. if you like a bit of Jazz/country/soft rock fusion, go see them, you will not be disappointed.
He sat out in the foyer afterwards, signing autographs, having his picture taken. A true gentleman and a pleasure to spend the evening in his company.
OK. Gigs up. I am on Twitter now ( sigh). Visit Changeling_1
