  • Aptly after the stunning John Grant / Ali peformance been going through my Lee Hazlewoood and Nancy Sinatra.

This is still my fav, thier version of the Dolly Parton track Down from Dover!

This has also been my longest running ring tone.. now in it's 8th year!

  • Some Ennio Morricone.
  • Ring tones, now there's a thread. A direct line into your psyche.
For many years, mine has been the theme from the Exorcist. It gets a few looks when it goes off during a meeting. I generally look at it, look up at the person opposite and say ' it's just head office '.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

  • The new Joris Voorn album "Nobody Knows" , this track Dust sounds like Royksopp to me (but without acidy squelches and a smidgen more progressive in its DNA) . Anywhat , techno`s in my blood mofo`s .

As usual with Royksopp I need a few headphone listens first before i get into it. The layers are so dense you need to concetrate to get to the song which means it takes a bit of time but is more fulfilling long term. So many little homage sounds (blade runner synth florishes, JM Jarre esque melodies).

Love the album, it just misses an edgy vocal like Karin. Jamie is nice but he has a similar vocal style through every song.

Yes , I`ve stopped listening to it (temporarily) to get other tunes out of my system and retro-ponderising on your point about why I`m doing my temporarilyising - you hit the mark . Abso-fecking-lutely love Running to the Sea (even when it was only available as a live performance) .

  • Mineral' - Plastic Ekphrastic

Totally missed this one in 2013
Great album by former Archive singer Craig Walker and three musicians from Paris.
The female singer gives a nice contrast to Craigs vocals.
