  • Lovely. I see why it didn't make the album though. Very b-side/bonustrack. Beautiful on its own but in the narrative whole that Tales is it does not seem to find it's proper place between the rest of the boys and girls.

Now all I have to do is wait until the box comes to hear the Moog remix and the Nowhere Boy extract. I wonder if it's the La La La end titles version that's been circling around for a while.

  • Oh I see the Nowhere Boy is very well done. Nice one Goldfrapp!
Not impressed with Moog. It feels unfinished. Add in a few more keys and you're in close Felt Mountain remix territory. That would have been better. The beginning feels awfully unfinished.

But Lee and Nowhere Boy: lovely. Very lovely!

  • The Moog Remix sounds like an additional instrumental to the original song, which by the way, I already mixed both, sounds verrry good, just a few adjustments and will sounds like a new version of Stranger.

  • Lee is,lovely, very much the lost eleventh tale in my mind.... Doesn't feel like a bside to me, rather something more like a hidden secret, if that makes sense....

Hopefully more tales are waiting to be discovered...

totally makes sense, in my mind it is an extension of Alvar.
  • Whoa! The two versions is overlay make a very nice mix indeed. What a good find!

  • this is the official lyric?

"She, the darkest part of life
    A whisper in the jean
    A shadow fooling you
She, there in the other world
    The secret place alone
    A lot has seen
Fear, you saw us standing there
    We're in the finished clothes
    The wind commands the sea
She, why are you doing the wait?
    We're moderns in the dark
    Your eyes without a face

    Lee
Only a Lee, oh Lee, oh la
    A whisper in the jean
    Shadows fooling you
    Lee, oh Lee, oh la
    A whisper in the jean
    A shadow fooling you

She, you saw us standing there
    We're in the finest clothes
    The wind commands the sea"

  • Hmm, I heard...

She, the darkest part of light
    A whisper in the dune..(?)

    Oh Lee, Oh Lee..Hola
    U R I E L
What is done in the dark will always come to light
  • LOL official lyrics

  • This is my take on the lyrics

She, the darkest part of light
    A whisper in a tune
    The shadow following you
    She, there in the underworld
    The secret place alone
    A roaring sea

Fear, you saw her standing there
    Wearing the finest clothes
    The wind commands the sea
    Fear, ???
And not a sound, the dark
    Your eyes without a face

Lee, oh Lee oh Lee oh love
    A whisper in a tune
    A shadows follows you

Fear, I saw her standing there
    All in the finest clothes
    The wind commands the sea
  • Somebody e-mail Alison to either post the lyrics or stop singing through her nose*

*that last part was a joke for the record.

  • Another version of the lyrics, after analyzing all the lyrics I reach this conclusion, i know it must be completely wrong, but anyone has a better one? damn alison, give us the official lyrics! :(

"She, in the darkest part of life
    A whisper in the tune
    A shadow fooling you

    She, there in the underworld
    The secret place alone
    A roaring sea

Fear, you saw her standing there
    Wearing the finest clothes
    The wind commands the sea

Fear, how did you get the ways
And not a sound, the dark
    Your eyes without a face

    Lee
Oh Lee, oh Lee, oh laa
    A whisper in the tune
    The shadows fooling you

    Lee
Oh Lee, oh Lee, oh laa
    A whisper in the tune
    A shadow fooling you

Fear, I saw her standing there
    All in her finest clothes
    The wind commands the sea"

  • Alison said in Twisted Summer songs should be for everybody what they could understand from them, I see no hurry for an official version, I like to make my own conclusions. On the nose singing, I love it, I expect she will sing however she likes, she owes me nothing and every manifestation she releases will be wellcome by me.  ; ]
  • The other day, I first heard Thea, directly followed by Boys will be boys.
Now that is quite a suddenly different sound. Both superb, of course!

Howdy, Stranger!
