I loved that video. Much more than "Drew". I feel like I can somehow relate to it, in the way I interpreted it. First time I heard "Annabel" as well. Beautiful. This album is making me so emotional....
Just read the description and I was exactly right in the way I interpreted it. "A young, androgynous boy explores his femininity through a hoard of trinkets hidden in the undergrowth"
I'm not really androgynous but I certainly have explored my femininity whenever I wear makeup, perfume, etc........
I feel so close to this video.
Thank you Goldfrapp for reminding me why I love you so much.
Gorgeous. Though it doesn't reflect the wintery atmosphere of the novel, which is set in Newfoundland & Labrador, there are a few vague hints to events in the story. It is apparently not supposed to be a summary of the novel; it does however, capture a bit of its essence.
Absolutely gorgeous. Lisa Gunning certainly was the right choice for this project. I love how she captures the languid pace of the song. Also, kudos to whoever cast this kid. What a beautiful, unforced presence he has.
Aaaaaaaah nice find rewak. Let me finish all the boring and frustrating stuff for today first, and then I'm all yours, video. And nowness, wow. Simply the right platform for videos like this. I was just about to tweet Alison when to expect the next video... :)
Also, there is another short interview hidden behind the read more button. nothing really new but still a good read focusing on the creation of song and visuals.
Interesting birdsong in the prelude. In the first sequence, its hard to make out, but it seems there is a Nightingale and maybe a Willow Warbler in there. The cicada noise over the top suggests that this is either a single recording taken from somewhere outside the UK, where both Nightingales and cicadas are commoner (maybe France?) or else a couple of recordings played together. Its much clearer when we cut to the wood, where there are Willow Warblers, Rook, Song Thrush and Buzzard, a very British mixture that fits the setting well.
