    The memes that kicked this off were pretty horrible.

    Every morning, I used to walk my little girl to school past a life-sized sculpture of a man being tortured to death. That was pretty horrible too.

    Stewart Lee's right - if governments, corporations or religions insist on forcing their messages on us, they don't also get to tell us what we are allowed to do with them.

    The only message I care about is to not be offensive.  In other words, showing compassion and sensitivity.  But, then again, I truly believe we are more than just animals.  Silly of me, I'm sure.  Self- respect and respect for others, very old fashioned concepts.

    People on this thread have a common bond, the admiration or love of Goldfrapp and their music.
    For some on here, there is not a lot else in common. People come from all walks of life, different countries, different ideals, different genders and sexual orientations. Some have faith, others don't. We are a broad Church.
    One thing we do share in common is we are all adults, and all are entitled to their opinion. That is the basis of freedom of speech. You should respect others views, even if you vehemently disagree with them; what we call in our house 'you are entitled to your opinion, even though you're wrong'. Failure to adopt this principal is what some of the more oppressive regimes and religions across the world specialise in.

    I do not have or follow any faith, as previously discussed over the last few years ( and I am far from the only one), but I have no problem with others who do. What I do know is that 'having faith' is purely that. You need to have faith that you are right in what you believe, but, to have that right, you also have to let others have their view that's it's all hogshit and something to take the piss out of.
    Social media is a bear garden and some just like to be provocative.
    If I remember my time in Sunday school, Jesus himself was tempted by the Devil.

    Take solace in that, if your view is correct, Iuv will be chased about for eternity by hobgoblins with pointy forks. If the other, then you will never know as you transcend into the inky blackness of oblivion!
