How to Embed A Video Version 2

The method has changed as the permissions on this forum changed (and has been changed back...sigh) . But this is the easiest version - a padded out version of Soflads instructions below

1. Go to You Tube page

2. Copy the YT address/url in the format of htp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N2Rp0zJ2q8 (I`ve deleted a `t` to stop it posting) , if it has "embedded player" in the url , it won`t post .

3. Paste and post text (no need to show source)

Sorry if you`re reading this - it didnt work on this forum . Soundcloud HTML code will paste in and show as working in the editor but it won`t work when posted - I`m assuming a flag has been placed to stop it .

To the left of any post is a number with an up and down arrow next to it (If you are zoomed in, it may not show).

For me, I plan on voting for tunes suggested and sexy women. Well, I voted for Alison, anyways... And, I voted for G-Spot for the forum name. Hope they will allow it!

Just copy and paste the YouTube URL (web address) into the message and "Violas!" - a video.

Sartori, followed your instructions to the letter and no show. If I go to 'Edit' the post the video appears to be there as this picture shows...

I`ve been trying to embed Soundcloud above this evening but its doing the same thing . Admin must have changed the permissions flags which allowed us mere mortals to post Youtube for um.. a day . I was on another forum bug testing it and the Admin there explained to me how it works and he gave me permissions to do various things and I tested them to see if I could crash the internet or something .

So it appears our time of shiny things has come to an end , the irony of my signature isn`t helping really haha

Don`t know why the test video is working ???

It's a loss because often the best way to post music is via YouTube videos. This attitude / approach continues and I'm off. Fuck 'em.

It's a crazy thought but you culd always just post the URL for people to click on or even just type the name out. Yeah, I know, call me wild & reckless, but I can handle that extra mouse click.

It's not that much hassle and we still get to investigate new sounds if we wish. Besides, not that many forums allow every link type. It's just one of those things.

It may be that it's just the one thing that's been chopped which won't be so bad. It may be that this forum is going the way of the previous board with practically all the features being effectively switched off. As Sartori infers, it'll be a return to the attitude by the Powers That Be of "...and so this is why we can't have nice things." Anyway, If my aunt had balls she'd be me uncle.

I don't frequent any other forums so I can't comment on other boards. What I genuinely cannot fathom is why you would have all these features on a board if they weren't meant to be used. Personally I like accessing the bits and bobs. If I can't then I won't be arsed coming here anywhere near as often.
Different strokes for different folks and all that. No biggie.
