  • @serenity Henry VIII killed George Boleyn, a member of his court and Anne's brother, first. He had revealed to Henry how Anne really felt ( he was a big fat fuck and terrible lover). Then he had all of Anne's past lovers executed, then Anne herself..but by sword instead of ax. This was not a crime of passion or caused by a blood disease- this was an act of pure rage at feeling inadequate. He more than likely had untreated gonorrhea, as he was a big whore. This disease in men causes pre-term miscarriage in women. Men can outwardly show signs of this STD, but women often don't . This is more than likely the cause.

“I want my eroticism mixed with love. And deep love one does not often experience.” Anaïs Nin.
  • No no- it's a hypothesis for why he never got the heir that he always wanted, and why so many of his wives and mistresses miscarried. Blood group incompatibility? Kerr protein?
  • I believe they miscarried because he had untreated gonorrhea. These executions had nothing to do with producing a male heir- he became enraged because he couldn't perform sexually...and god forbid, others knew about it.

  • I've been watching The Crown and I like the way that it is mentioned, more than once, how Britain has done best under the Queens.  Of course, King George VI (?Elizabeth's dad?) seemed like a pretty cool dude.
  • Half of the world population would like to rest their case. Thank you.
  • Can you elaborate on what you mean Kat? Not quite following you but I'm sensing your not a fan of this thread?

@serenity She means half of the world is women and they make much better rulers. ( Not that anyone should be ruled though. )

  • I was seconding the suggestion that Britain has done better under its Queens. Vive Les Queens! ( looks for rainbow emoticon but there isn’t one...note to Alison).
  • Parlez vous Francais?

Oh yes without a shadow of a doubt, The United Kingdom has had some of the best rulers in History. If you count out Bloody Mary, big fat Henry and Thatcher the milk snatcher!
  • Queen Elizabeth:  "To many of us, our beliefs are of fundamental importance. For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times from Christ's words and example."

I like the way she thinks.  She chooses her words carefully.  I respect that.
