This isn't exactly 'Twin Peaks' news but a review of the documentary David Lynch: The Art Life.
Hmm, I caught this documentary a few days ago..and am still thinking about it. I came to the conclusion that David had a depressive disorder that only the act of creating in a workshop could fix. The depressive disorder I feel came about from seeing things, traumatic things, he couldn't get his mind around. Art became a kind of self-repair to deal with it, in my opinion. There is a dissonance in the brain when confronted with such experiences. He has such a sweet, 50's style, regular guy presence about him. He didn't have much faith in his Art, but strived for what he called 'The Art Life.' His family was always trying to dissuade from such a career, as realist, dream crushing family can do. He won a contest and a college grant that pretty much saved his life. Worth seeing for the insight alone.
