The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ. Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancal half a line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
Watching this, you realise just how good a vocalist, & how versatile is the voice of Alison Goldfrapp.

Very happy to revive this thread after almost 2 and a half years to inform that I saw Queens of the Stone Age live recently (fantastic show), and after the gig they did an interview where frontman Josh Homme said that part of their pre-show ritual to get them all excited was listening to Alison Goldfrapp :))
Not something I ever expected but I can kind of see it!
On Friday 7th March, BBC 6 Music did a special day to celebrate 35 years of Dépêche Mode’s Violater. Each show played tracks from the album & every record played that day was from 1990. In between, they had interstitials from famous artists talking about the album & the band & one of these was Will Gregory. He talked about being asked to do a Remix of ‘Halo’ (from the album) & Dave Gahn doing a similar remix & vocal on Goldfrapp’s ‘Ocean’ in 2017.
He spoke warmly about Alison & Goldfrapp & I noticed it was all in the present tense, lots of ‘we are’, not ‘we were’. I don’t think the GF bandwagon is finished yet. I still think that, when the left EMI, they signed a 3 album deal &, so far, we have only had two, so I think there is a contractural obligation for another.
Remember, you could be a Portishead fan!
