Particularly if they are taller than they are wide.

It's a little more complicated than that. A flaring edge helps. A narrow bottom and wide top (a 3-dimensional v-shape) really causes spillage. Good practice, though, for being careful. The best I've found was a cup that has a wide base, narrows near the top and, then, flares. Kinda like an hourglass though, of course, not that narrow. You really have to be trying to to spill that one. And, actually, I have one just as you described and it is also difficult to spill.
And as we know, yer canna change the laws of physics !

So, you like physics, Iuv? I always loved to one concerning direction of force when you pull a thread from the bottom of a spool. It still blows my mind. Hmmm, there are a few others though I can't remember them right off. Of course, dropping phosphorous in water was always fun.
Oh man! I thought of the other one that always fascinated me. If you take a paper cup and put water in it and then light a lighter under the cup, it won't burn until the water is gone. I mean, that's just cool! No pun intended.
Here's another one that baffled me for the longest time. I just figured out lately. I guess it's astrophysics, really. If it is around a half-moon at night on one side of the world, what is its phase when it is nighttime on the other side of the world? The whole action of the moon baffled me so much that I really had to study it and found a few things that seemed surprising, at least to me.
Techno query again folks, as usual...This time my iPad is resting on the naughty chair. It had a new screen a few weeks ago and everything seemed to be ok, but just lately the thing has been going wappy - it keeps flitting between random apps at high speed and typing an email is turning into gibberish (I know what you're thinking). Also, half the screen sometimes looks like a blue cloud is spreading over it... Is it a case of new battery required or something more expensive- does anyone know?
