  • Addiction?  Habit?  Pretty close to the same thing.  I'm more and more convinced that most habits are a bane on mankind.
  • I dont know how on earth i managed to stumble on this, bit its about TEA which is all good because im a serious tea addict

So... out of 'sheer' curiosity, what strength of tea do you prefer. Do you have milk and sugar (if so how much sugar?)

I swear to God my nan has half a spoon of sugar. Seriously. What is that all about. Just have the whole bloody spoon instead instead of half measures!!!

Im not a coffee fan at all. I can stretch to a cappucino but have to put a load of cocoa powder on top and i mean LOADS of the stuff.

Does anyone else have any strange food or drink habits? I also love strong cheese, pickled onions, chutney and nutella.

I think thats enough information for one night.
  • I have my tea a nice warm shade of brown. I don't do fruit tea, infusions or the green tea thing (who wants a mug of fairy liquid. No thanks). A wee bit of milk and two sugars. Im very particular with me tea.
  • Is it a basic English breakfast Serendipity? A PG Tips or a Typhoo? Nothing pretentious. The cup that cheers !

  • Indeed..English Tea is the fabric of society. Everyone loves a good ol' cup of rosy lee. I dont mind Tetleys, PG Tips, Typhoo or Twinings in any old mug.
  • Anybody ever make shroom tea? ...no?

  • No never heard of it. What are people's favourite alcoholic drinks?
  • Oh, it's just a tea made from hallucinogenic mushrooms.

I always like a 'white linen'. I've been having a love affair with St. Germain Elderflower Liquor the past few years. Sweet and light, like moonlight in a glass.

  • Ive never come across that, although i have had an elderflower spritzer drink which was non alcoholic.
Im a bit of a cocktail girl mainly- i like my bellinis and fruity cocktails. Also a fan of rose wine. Chambord and Amaretto too.

I can't deal with anything too strong these days. I will never forget trying a jaigerbomb in a nightclub and i felt so ill i nearly passed out. Bloody vile stuff.
  • I think im already crazy enough. Start giving me hallucinogenic tea and that is asking for trouble.

I'm a martini and wine girl myself, not both at the same time of course.

  • Oh, dear.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Tea or coffee straight up.  No sugar or cream.  The coffee is so thick that if you put a spoon in it stands straight up.  French roast.  Either tea or coffee, I can't stand flavoured.  To me, Oolong, Orange Pekoe etc are flavoured.  Actually, I did have a sweet Chinese tea once, I think it was called seven flowers, that was out of this world.  Dunno tea well enough to say I have a preference for strength but I know it can be made too strong.  I'd like to try a rather light tea strength but it's so much against my nature that I can't say I've ever tried it.  A good wine, red or white is fine indeed.  Scotch on the rocks but I tend to avoid that nowadays.

Ah!  Chambord!  Kyr Royale!  Tia Maria (on the side or dosed) and coffee is dreamy.

You know, the problem with sweet drinks is that it is the sweetness that makes one ill.

Great job, Serenity, of digging up an old thread.  Kudos!  That is so seldom done and the board is better for the additions.

  • I can drink sweet drinks in moderation- as you say you can end up going overboard and way over your alcohol intake.

What are peoples favourite meals/food & deserts. Funnily enough im way more interested in the deserts menu in restaurants rather than any actual food. My brain is wired up to sweetness and sugar.
  • Red wine PG. something from Bordeux usually, but there are some nice new world ones and Rioja's.
Hard spirt I still like what I liked as a kid, Bacardi and Coke, but I do like Sailor Jerry rum as well. Also fond of Southern Comfort in the form of a Southern Cooler so ice, Southern Comfort and lemonade as a long drink.
I like a Hurricane cocktail as well. Had one of those on the Nachos paddle steamer out of New Orleans.
    Oh, and Dakaris.
    Is that enough PG?
