I mean, pretty much all of them, but Tigerman and Zodiac Black of course...

No 1 spot goes to Faux Suede Drifter though. My eye was just drawn to that.

A Clint Eastwood cowboy movie for the 2000's.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Out of all those titles, i'm not surw which one reads to be the 'Let It Take You' of Silver Eye (if there will be one).  I suspect Tigerman could be, or Faux Suede Drifter...
Soon be nothing of this world.
  • Moon in my mouth? Yes.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • "The Beast That Never Was" is a novel by Caren Werlinger that won a 2016 Rainbow Award for best lesbian fantasy ("hosted by Elisa Rolle" - I dont know if that means if only Elisa Rolle thought it was the best lesbian fantasy in 2016 though). A summary here
  • And how about this as the inspiration for "Moon in My Mouth"...?

Come With Me, I Said, And No One Knew (VII)

Come with me, I said, and no one knew

where, or how my pain throbbed,

no carnations or barcaroles for me,

only a wound that love had opened.

I said it again: Come with me, as if I were dying,

and no one saw the moon that bled in my mouth

or the blood that rose into the silence.

O Love, now we can forget the star that has such thorns!

That is why when I heard your voice repeat

Come with me, it was as if you had let loose

the grief, the love, the fury of a cork-trapped wine

the geysers flooding from deep in its vault:

in my mouth I felt the taste of fire again,

of blood and carnations, of rock and scald.

    Pablo Neruda

  • @whispered Nice finds there :) Ahhh, Neruda...melancholy romance. That's the kind that sticks with you. Let's hope at least one of her songs is that romantic *overly-dramatic sigh* ...sad, romantic ones are kinda my favorite. The deep ones.

  • It depends.

"Systemagic" for the brilliant play on words.
"Beast that never was" for the worlds' current obsession.
"Everything is never enough" because it sounds so Bond.
"The moon in your mouth" because it just brings such interesting images.

I find it interesting that there is no song, "Silver eye".  I wish there was...

I suspect Silver eye will be a b-side
  • I'm most intrigued by "Moon in Your Mouth" and "Ocean" but "Zodiac Black" and "Faux Suede Drifter" are the most striking titles to me.

  • "Systemagic" makes me think of this every time I read it:

Soon be nothing of this world.
  • Systemagic & Moon for me.. also intrigued by the final track 'Ocean'..The final tracks from Goldfrapp's last few albums have been my faves (Monster Love, Voicething, Clay)
  • Defiantly MIYM & Ocean :)
    Music Junkie
  • Has anyone else noticed that in the Music section of this site, the back catalogue appears to be in order of more recent release... Then Head First is tacked on the end. Deliberate or coincidental? I loved HF ( just sayin....again).
  • Yes saw that and wondered whether it's because Alison really doesn't like HF, or a cock-up. Probably the latter.
  • not to infect with my weakness of listening to the clips...but even before i did listen

ZODIAC BLACK was the track that caught my eye and
then i heard the clip and that sent endorphins into every cell
as a huge BIG BLACK CLOUD LITTLE WHITE LIE deconstruct of TIPTOE fan

    just yes

and i can't wait to hear the entire track
*tear in corner of eye anticipating

    such a pussy ugh
