There is the theroy that everybody is Autistic in a way, it is just where you register on the spectrum.
What is normal? I like to think I am pretty much there mentally all the time but I sit on the inside of the screen looking out and I know how bats my thoughts are at times, I just don't act on them ( but derive immense pleasure in running it through my mind and considering it) >:)

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.

Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Madonna.

    Madonna, Madonna, Madonna, Ma-freakin'-donna.
In anticipation for the Toronto stop on her new tour (starts in Montreal in 8 days), aside from going clinically insane on sammydress.com and ebay to get my outfit together, I've been uber-absorbed in her music. She may be playing the "Twerking Grandma" theme right now, but damn it, she's still Madonna, and fantastic live. There is simply not another show like hers, save for Michael Jackson or Stevie Nicks.

Hell, her show is MATADOR themed. Long have many a Madonna fan dreamed of a fiery, latin, tribal tour.

  • I can help you out with that, PoGu.

Well, I could go on and on, but tonight...I got a headache.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • I have a,ways preferred this version of Wild is the Wind to the Bowie version.
I have great respect for Nina as an artist. She pushed back so many frontiers and challenged prejudice with her music. Strange Fruit is a prime example of this and well worth seeking out. Nice selection people.

  • Wow iuv, what gorgeous selections! I must say, her version of Wild is the Wind just transports me to another place...stunning. Headed out to my local jazz joint now- it's a heels and pearls kind of evening-

  • Don't get me started, PoGu. Matty'll piss all over me with his contempt. LOL

  • Ooh I LOVE Nina...her versions of Strange Fruit, Wild Is The Wind, Summertime and I Put A Spell On You are just flawless.

Also love Sinnerman, Black Is The Colour Of My True Loves Hair and See-Line Woman. I was so disappointed the morning I read about her death in the paper. I must have been 19 years old...truth be told, later that day when I got off work I had a good cry out of self pity because I realized I would never see her live. Add her to the long list of artists who passed before I would ever get a chance to experience their particular brand of magic making in a live setting. You know, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain.

Off to dig out some old Billie and Nina records to listen to while I drift off...
