  • I'm thinking that a Frappy-Bushy colaberation would be awesome, but I know THaTS not going to happen!
  • I've always liked a bit of Frappy Bush KR.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Gawd help us....we bought a new hedge trimmer and strimmer yesterday UT. Plenty of pruning and edging going on here this weekend. It's true, all true.
  • The amusing thing is that I've been Banned from using them, given how accident prone I am! Which suits me fine ( nestles back in deckchair with a good book and mojito). :-\"
  • As Mark Radcliffe used to say of Fat Harry White, ' I've been trimming the lovely Audrey's bush ! '

  • I agree, Smith is getting to me (although I can't say I blame him personally, he's quite a kind person). I'm amazed Kate hasn't done it yet. And wow, I didn't remember Shirley doing three! Gah! My mistake.

        My dream performers would be:

    Goldfrapp
    Bjork
    Florence + The Machine
    Kate Bush
Stevie Nicks (seriously, THAT would be freaking EPIC)
  • Well, I mentioned it before, and was counselled not to, but maybe I should go to a bookies and put a quid on the Frapp doing it. Listening to Stranger yesterday again, it just seems so obvious. If it does happen, there will be a whole new raft of fans I'm sure ( which is great, but will make me a tad childishly jealous !).
  • It'll probably be Beyoncé or Muse.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Ha!  Stevie Nicks would be cool but, really, nobody does a Bond song like Goldfrapp.  If they ever get a chance, I could see them doing multiple.  They just hit it so well.  "Stranger" and "Human" are so exactly Bond.  "Thea", "You never know", "Cologne Cerrone Houdini", "Tiptoe", "Train", "Crystalline Green", "Slippage" would all work, but they would be a bit of a twist which would be nice.  Bring it in to the 21st Century which Goldfrapp did a great job of leading the way.  I wonder how they select an artist?  Do they choose the  artist or does the artist submit a song for perusal?
  • I do know Alison and Will were turned down for Casino Royale because the producers wanted something "more butch", which resulted in that atrocious Chris Cornell song. I'm unsure if the band approached the producers or vice versa, but it did in fact happen. Was mentioned in the forums ages ago. They do know that Goldfrapp exist, for certain. I believe, for Spectre, they are using the same people in charge of the score.

  • Rock lore has it: ca. 1980, (Christ Stein and Debbie Harry of) Blondie were asked to do the title song for "For Your Eyes Only." They composed a clever and sexy tune, which they submitted to *whomever*. When they were told that a song had already been penned and that they were expected to perform it, they declined. The song went to Sheena Easton. Blondie's "For Your Eyes Only" was included on their Hunter album in 1982.

To write the song?  Perform the song?  Select the band?

They are just soooo missing it if they choose anyone besides GoldFrapp to write and perform.  I swear, if they had any sense, they would put Goldfrapp on retainer for the foreseeable future.  There's just no comparison.  They nail it even when they're not trying.  I'd've (only two apostrophe word I know, kinda cool) thought that they had more sense.  But, then again, large organizations just seem to be more and more filled with nitwits.  Sigh.

I think right now. it's rumoured to be Sam Smith... meh.
  • I don't even know what that is. Sounds like a brand of chewing tobacco or six shooter or summat.
