The Chain Playlist
  • Question. What do you get if you cross Wordy Frappinghood with What are you listening to now? Well, you get The Chain Playlist !
In a thread thinly lifted from the Radcliffe and Marconie show on 6 Music ( I'm not ashamed) you start with a track and then chain the next track to it, by some connection. This could be a common word in the title or band name or some fact about the first track the links into the 2nd one.
For example, if we started with 'Diamond Dogs' by David Bowie, you could say that some dogs are hounds, so link to 'Hounds of Love' by Kate Bush. Or, in the 70's, David Bowie was openly Bisexual, so you could link to AC/DC and 'Whole Lotta Rosie'.
Some rules. Put a link in to the track you are moving onto, so we get a playlist to listen to, the next track must be by a different artist and try to get it back to Goldfrapp whenever you can as that is why we are all here after all. Perhaps each time we do, we have a drink, so it's a drinking game as well !

Nice video. Anyone know what film it is based on? A fairly modern Jesse James tale looking at the camera technique.

  • @PG. You always get these back to GF and, thus, a drink. Is there something you want to tell us?
@iuventus. Are you saying Little Death is good mastubatory music or have I missed something? Little Death; an auto asyphixation connection? Sometimes the insight into the links is good.
Motörhead is the primary vehicle of one Lemmy (Ian Fraser) Kilmister. Back in the day, he was first Roadie and then Bassist to Hawkwind. Interestingly, Lemmy is a year older than @Pet.
One link would be Silver Machine - Hawkwind, but that seems too obvious.
However, I had this on 7 inch vinyl once but swapped it for a 7" vinyl 'Wicked World" by Black Sabbath, the first song Iommi/Butler/Osbourne and Ward wrote together. This is heavy metal as it should be, before it was taken over by a lot of posing, cod piece wearing toss-pots. Iommi's guitar work is just awesome for a left hander with the tips of two fingers on his fret hand missing.
Black Sabbath - Wicked World. Enjoy; bang your head a bit !
