The Great Goldfrapp Christmas Challenge 2014
  • 45 Comments sorted by
  • Another Christmas piece I picked up in Amsterdam.  I was chatting with an old friend of ours on Twitter (yes, I have succumbed to the dark side - go find me) and she told me of her experiances with Polar bears in the frozen wastelands of Finland, so we have decided to name this bear Minsku.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • We seem to have drifted away from Carpy's original intention for this thread in our thirst for all things Christmasy.
I had this idea as soon as the thread was started but never did anything about it.  Then I saw a picture from Giancarlo that he had taken along similar lines so have now sorted.  I give you....
    Frapp baubles!

  • People have often said this place is a bit boll.....er....baubles :))

    Lovely stuff.
A million fires before your harvest comes. To burn out.
Wear the mask of a heathen. For the moon's lonely eyes.

Here's my little Christmas collage! Knocked up, literally, in 1 hour flat! Wish I had had more time, but when I'm under pressure I work best anyway!
There are 7 Frapp references in the picture if you want to play!

  • Nice Kat :D Glitter, felt and fuzz- I'll have to look deeply.

  • You got 3 Bottlehead :-* I hadn't actually intended Hairy Tree, but there is a tree reference, surprisingly! ( count em). Not easy to look at this size. Fun to make though! I ll give the answers tomorrow...if anyone gives a monkeys lol!
  • I can see a little bird and also a deer, which appears to have stopped ! The picture also has a very melancholy sky !

  • Interesting interpretation of the sky UT- hadn't intended that one either! Nah, in the pic there is :-
    Felt
    Seven trees
    A ( we are ) glitter ball
    Yellow Halo
Deer ( it's actually a reindeer with blue antlers, a bit chilly)
Little Bird ( a camp Robin lol)
And a Brown Paper Bag ( the deer was cut from it and covered in organza)
So there you go.....Tales Of A Winter Wonderland. It'll be worth millions when I'm dead!

I'm going to quote it again as 'your lovely...work' is so nice.

Things like this make me happy to have started the thread.

I can't take credit for the two answers ponygurl found (serendipity)
  • Oh ..no, sorry!
  • "Brown paper bag", Ha. I would never have seen that!
I was expecting to see a (black) cherry stone hidden somewhere

Thanks again for giving us your "Tales of a winter Wonderland" quiz
