It's back! Time for 'Carpy's Christmas Crackers' 2014 Edition.
  • After the last editions on here in 2008 and 2011 it seems like time for the next one to make an appearance!

As ever, the compilation expands on the years before so any latecomers get to catch-up too. This years is therefore a bumper 2 hours of wintery, strange, nearly-festive music you may love, hate or look at in a puzzled way.

Let me know in the comments what you think and if you wish to share on for others can you re-upload to save killing my links like happened last time! ;o)

  • (Yes, there's one track on there with a very tenuous link but any excuse to add a certain person's early band into the collection!)

  • squeee!!!! i love it when you do these! :D :D :D
  • Praying to get out of town this Christmas but, if we get bamboozled into staying and doing the rounds, i'll be taking this music mix with me. At least we'll be assured the music will be good!

  • Merry musicmas Carpy!

Think I tried this the first time you posted many years ago but struggled to avoid cheese.

A couple of years ago I managed to make a CD's worth as present, but i gave myself the rule they had to have an obvious christmas connection in tune or lyric rather than just title or winter ref. So obviously I struggled.

Half way to a 2nd but need another 10 tracks. See if I can get 10 out of these 33 although not sure how many you have uploaded before. Nathan Fake is one you put me onto a few years back. Love that track. Really wish someone would do an album of xmas electronica instrumentals. :-/

The link to my one is here if anyone interested. Think only 2 cross overs :-).

She's great, isn't she - she has a way with the passion she puts into things and having that backed by the wonky synths is just wonderful.

  • Brilliant- I haven't heard most of these and will enjoy finding and listening to them, thanks. Nice to know there is some alternative Xmas stuff out there...how many more years can we tolerate Wizard etc...sheesh!

Two z's in Wizzard KatRobin. And you a teacher ! TIs' true, the song is pure cheese but better than a lot of the others and it keeps Roy Wood ( penis gag?) in hot toddys all through the year.
It also has a nice sentiment at the end; 'Why don't you give your love for Christmas'
    Ah !

Just to put that old master in context, this is a version by the vamps.  If you prefer this version, then you are beyond hope !

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Tsk tsk, shame on me. And double shame dos I don't get the Roy Wood joke. Seems to me UT the more you post, the smuttier you get. It's all b"(&£@cks with you! You need a therapist I'd say!
( :\"> you going to explain it then?)
  • UT won't be in the land of the living yet Kat! The Roy WOOD is a school playground hard-on joke! nough said!
What if the Hokey Cokey is what it's all about?
  • As you say it's all meat and two veg with our UT!
What if the Hokey Cokey is what it's all about?
  • Did I hear the dinner bell?
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • If it sounds like a smoke detector...then, yes.
