I'm sure they were asked ages ago and Alison wasn't bothered about it, saying that they'd never let them do what they wanted anyways.

In terms of if they did it and it made them massively mainstream, not to sound awful but I'm not sure that's happened with a bond theme before.....

Face palm, Jer. I still can't believe I did that. I tend to write rather lengthy things in a document before posting or emailing. And, then, my email was down for a day, so I had a few things to copy/paste. And, somehow, it seems like the copy doesn't always work, so if I'm not careful, the wrong thing goes to the wrong place.

God, yes, Alison would be so fine in one of those movies, though I think a cameo, like Madonna, would be just about perfect. I'm guessing to get Will in a movie, they'd have to drag him kicking and screaming.

Yes WW, she'd be perfect for a cameo. Hmm, how would you cast her? I'd cast her as a brooding gypsy cabaret singer. Long and curly dark hair. Maybe with an addiction and affliction. She could sing about her need and how it must be satisfied. It could work into the theme somehow. Now that would be interesting.

My 4-pennoth.....makes me puke that Adele got so much praise and fame and awards for the Skyfall theme ( though it was a good ditty yes). Just saying.
And would I want Goldfrapp to be stratospherically famous?...... nah, I'd far sooner bump into Alison and / or Will down the pub or walking the dog and feel I could try a shy hello. Without being hustled away by five oversized bouncers.

That's a pretty good casting, PG. I never thought about it. I kinda picture filming her in her natural environment, maybe. Like in the country with her dog or, maybe, in her cozy little home. Haven't a clue how to make that work. Of course, here other natural enviornment is cabaret singer. You think the Theremin would be too much for a Bond movie? I think it would actually fly today. Of course, it would take the attention totally away from Bond for an extended period while people recovered. That may not be good. ;~j

A good director can only compensate so much for a lazy script, and when they can't be bothered to come up with an original idea it doesn't fill me with hope :(
