  • Oh, and '10, it could have been 110' was just a figure of speech.

  • @Urban_Tribesman

    Who knitted you?

I wasn't saying that different mixes and performances of aren't significantly different -- or that some of them aren't significantly better than others -- just that there aren't 110 Goldfrapp songs from which to choose.  And it would be an odd response to this thread that listed more than one mix/version of the same song.

    Crumbs!
  • Crumbs indeed.
Surely we have to view every remix as different, otherwise, why have them, they are just the same song?
Goldfrapp remixes are usually a complete reinterpretation, not just an adjunct from the original.
I had no repeats in my top 10. I remain happy with it (for now...)

  • I am sure someone will cough up a precise figure but if we pick up all the orphans like Lee and Yellow Halo and Melancholy Sky, the early covers like Yes Sir! but discount the numerous remixes, the track count sits at about 70.
At, say, 4 minutes a track, you could listen to the whole catalogue in 4 hours, 40 minutes.
10 years ago, enough to see you across the Atlantic. Sadly, not today.

  • Jay, this calls for a comprehensive list of all Goldfrapp songs, tracks, remixes etcetera! I bet I don't know even half of the non-album tracks. We might want to start a different thread on that topic. I am not sure if I can make it to 100 but perhaps someone would like to give it a go? It would be appreciated (at least by me).
  • But "Yes Sir, I can Boogie" isn't a Goldfrapp song. "Yellow Halo" and "Melancholy Sky" are.

Never mind me. I won't even participate in the poll, as there are too many superb songs to choose from not including the non-Goldfrapp-penned tracks.
If I were dead, could I do this?

    Pish !
Yes Sir was not penned by GF but it was an early live staple so has to feature in the list as it was a uniquely GF version of the song, as is Let's Get Physical and Winter Wonderland.
If Goldfrapp have done a version of it, it has to count !

  • I wish the thread were called "Your 10 Favorite Goldfrapp Songs, Recordings, and Live Covers."
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Or just 'Your 10 favourite Goldfrapp tracks" ??

  • Then you are safe. I think it'd be better to cover all the bases though--not just yours. But don't mind me...

  • Seeing lots of love for Laurel...awesome!
  • 1. Utopia
    2. Little Death
    3. Strict Machine (Live Long Version)
    4. Yes Sir (I know is a cover, but I love this Goldfrapp version)
    5. Ride a White Horse (Live in London)
    6. Happiness
    7. Rocket (Richard X One-Zero Mix) Yes…this is unacceptable, but i like it
    8. Melancholy Sky
    9. Clay
    10. Drew

  • I've mulled over this for days now but nope, I can't do it. Ok, so I know my top 3- Ride A White Horse, Drew and Crystalline Green, but after that everything else becomes just , well..... Impossible! Hunt would be up there somewhere...and Believer....shit, that's 5 already. Silly exercise. Got me in a pickle. Humph.
