H'm. Does Clowns wind anybody else up? It is a track I find too easy to click the 'FF to next track' button on. I appreciate the technique of using the voice as an instrument; and Alison does this as well as anybody, but Clowns gets too close to the actual words and just sounds like it was poorly recorded to me. Sorry!

What I love about Goldfrapp, is the way their music speaks to so many people in different ways; hence the differing top,10's people have posted here. Very difficult to come to 10, as it could be 110, but, in the order that they appear: Lovely Head Utopia Crystalline Green Train Strict Machine You Never Know Little Bird (live version with extended outro) Some People Then it got really difficult as Tales of Us is such a great album and is still working its way insidiously into my consciousness. However: Annabel - for the exquisite chord change at 3:10 Laurel - dreamy and about redheads! It is my alarm track on my IPod when I am away from home. Really looking forward to seeing it live at the RAH.
If I had to pick one, it would break my heart but it would probably be Train (Sob!)

It would be very difficult to select 110, as I don't think that Goldfrapp have recorded that many songs. I'm not going to try to work out how many songs they've recorded, but there are 6 studio albums each with around 10 or 11 songs. Then there are B-sides, cover versions, odds and ends -- but surely there can't be more than 30 or so of them.
Of course, if we count remixes, live versions, etc., there must be more than 110 tracks. But this thread is called Your 10 favorite Goldfrapp songs not Your 10 favourite Goldfrapp tracks
@Pet Have you been at the grumpy pills? Irrespective of the title of the thread, I prefer some Goldfrapp tracks and mixes over others, so my top 10 should reflect this. For example, the tracks on We Are Glitter bear only a passing aquaintence with their original tracks so why can I not have the choice of, say, Satin Chic (Bombay Mix by the Shortwave Set) as a preference to Satin Chic from Supernature? Little Bird is, in my opinion, a more balanced song in its live version with the extended end section than it is on Seventh Tree. I would assume Alison and Will agree as I have seen them perform this at least 10 or 12 times and it has always been in this extended version. I do not have everything on my IPod by any stretch of the imagination, but it tells me I have 154 Goldfrapp tracks to chose from. On such attention to detail is the world founded.
