  • ok I give up. I've tried EVERYTHING!!!!! YET AGAIN!!! thought I'd mastered Flickr uploading now, and have gone thru the whole process - selecting a smaller sized image, copying and pasting the URL, submitting the pic...but nothing's happening. Help anyone?
  • ^ Hmm, the URL doesn't look right at all. It should start with http:// and that will usually be followed by www.
  • Good to hear your stories people. Not envious AT ALL! lol ;-)

Looking foward to your pictures. Did David manage to take some group shots?

    Bout 90 ;)
  • Morning all!
. We also had a couple next too me and my cousin who spent the whole gig chatting and swilling down champagne. In fact the amount of talking around us was unbearable at times :(. I don't understand why people do that?! So rude and disrespectful to the band and bloody annoying for us

Because pple are knob sacks. Its worse in London for some reason.
  • ^ LOL. Knob-sack is a new one on me!

Anyway, looking fwd to seeing David's pics. He take some in the pub?

  • HJ thanks for trying to help there. We are spending ages poring over this. For some reason on Flickr my pics' URLs are not fully defined, they are half dim grey', if you know what I mean. We have also noticed that they start with https , not http as in the add image box on the forum here. We are really struggling. Shame.....got some great pics and wanted to share them with the good folks we met last nite x
  • ^ A URL starting with https should be OK. Hmm, I don't have ideas about the greyed-out thing.

Go to "Edit" your post above (ie the one that has the non-appearing image), and then click on the very last button above the edit-box.. the one that looks like this: <> That will show you the actual text of the URL you were trying to use. You'll see it's not normal...

  • HJ, what if you went in and edited in the prefix...?
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • ^ Yeah, I did try to do that. But it took me to some dodgy website!

KR should definitely look at the URL. It includes the term "fake-url" in it. Odd.

  • Seats weren't as hideous as I had first feared but very squashed and we had a bunch of gay chaps in front threatening to kick off as they got told to be quiet (yes!!!) by another couple. We also had a couple next too me and my cousin who spent the whole gig chatting and swilling down champagne. In fact the amount of talking around us was unbearable at times :(. I don't understand why people do that?! So rude and disrespectful to the band and bloody annoying for us fans.

I had the same exact problem!! People kept talking very loudly, running off to get drinks and smoking. Most of the time I felt like I was the only one who actually cared about the music itself?!

All in all, most of the British audience was so rude that I'm planning to stick to European shows from now on. Unless of course there is something extra special happening in the UK! ;)

Anyway, it was nice to meet so many of you peeps! Too bad the weather just wasn't any better!

Not just Goldfrapp gigs. Years ago, Mrs T and I used to attend classical music evenings at country houses. Took a picnic, fold up chairs, the works and had a great time. However, had to knock it on the head eventually as it was always spoiled by some Hooray Henry 's constantly chatting through the music, being generally offensive when asked politely to keep the noise down, to the point once where they then decided to throw bits if food at people during the performances who had asked them politely to keep it down. More than once it got to within a gnats cock of a fight which at something as middle class as a classical music evening just spoilt it.
Cock Snot. Add that to your list of derogatory description of such scum. I go to a concert to see and hear the bands, not constantly walk up,and down to get more beer, then a piss because of the beer, then more beer ad infiinitum. Slow painful death to good for 'em in my opinion !
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Yeah pretty much any half decent sized London gig is ruined. I find music listening earplugs helps to an extent.
