I have to admit a guilty pleasure that I have always liked this song. It was one of the very early 7" vinyl singles I bought. A quiet floaty melody with, as Eric Stewart from the band once put it "two whacking great guitar solos in the middle". Apparently, the song was influenced by an American Airlines poster with a stewardess beckoning you into the poster ( and onto an AA flight) which Stewart had seen and a tramp was crashed out in front of the poster.

Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Marc Riley, 6 Music again!
Pink Floyd - Shine on you Crazy Diamond. Just about as perfect as 13.38 minutes of music can get. Still have my original vinyl LP in the black plastic it came in back in 1975.
I don't do drugs but, if I did, this is what I would do it to. I would, of course, segue together parts 1-V and VI-IX for a full 26.07 of ecstasy. (No pun intended)

  • And then we get Street Spirt by Radiohead. Marc is playing a blinder.
    The new John Peel anyone?

  • Listening to TOU on a hot a sticky commuter train wondering if anyone else on here has this wonderful sound resonating from their earphones?
What if the Hokey Cokey is what it's all about?
  • Evanescence - Hello
Very haunting and simple song.  Unlike other Evanescence songs, that guitar just hangs there in the background and never jumps in to swamp the melody. When the cello comes in, it reminds me a bit of the feeling from Tales of Us. Beautiful.

  • David Bowie - Young Americans. I didn't feel up for it at first, but it's actually a perfectly listenable album.
