  • Can I dedicate this thread to anything that blows us away? Anything you come across that leaves you speechless and thrilled ( in a good way). Could be a piece of music, an image, anything. I stumbled upon this piece of music on Spotify - All The Days by Haerts - brilliant IMO. I love it's layers and the way the bass line gallops through it, fantastic.

  • Interesting video. The end section, where the dancers each have a turn to come to the front and do a little dance move reminds me of another video but cannot bring it to mind at the moment.
Here is the link. This should free your time to concentrate on the Llama/rucksack picture you have promised.

  • Thanks for that UT. We're you thinking of that Fat Boy Slim vid? Not the same kind of dancing, but....
And the llama is a given. But I won't get my Mac back for 3 weeks- it's gone to PC World A and E , sniff.

That's how they caught Gary Glitter when his PC went for maintenance at PC World and they went through his drive !

  • Yikes! You're right!! Damn damn damn! I've got all my Sex Education planning and resources on it ( some VERY interesting visual worksheets!). Nothing more worrisome than that however. Apart from photos of the clay dildo I modelled at pottery class ( yes.... 8-| ).
I don't need any more stress!!!!
Anyway......back to the thread......while I hit the gin.
  • You teach Sex Ed KatRobin?  Despite having no connection to the church itself, I'm friends with a great many Unitarian Universalists (essentially, liberal social-justice enthusiasts who enjoy camping and organic granola). And many of them are involved in sex ed or sexuality studies.  I've never met a sex ed instructor I didn't like.
  • I remember my sex education at school. The teacher (male, sportsmaster ) with some pull down charts that were exposed briefly and then rolled up again. They had diagrams of a penis (ok, got one of those) and, (oh my God, what's that,) a vagina?( Ew !) on them. I also seem to remember a 3D model of a (gulp) vagina that was segmental and came apart so you could see what went on inside. Of course, this was an all boys school so we learnt the most from the porn wrangler in the play ground ( he was called Steven Flicker) and his never ending supply of Health and Efficiency and Knave magazines. This was before video cassette players and I had another mate who 'borrowed' his Dad's 'Stag' films and we had to set up a projector to watch. They were sooo funny played backwards. Kind'a miss that type of fun in this digital age.

Just watched that (Praise You). Similar but not what I was thinking of. There is another video that features people in a dance group and they take it in turns to come to the front and shake their booty, males and females. Will give it some thought but may need some suggestions from people as to what this video may be.

  • My high-school sex education lessons were quite explicit. They included a heat sensitive video of a man and woman fucking, an x-ray film of a man ejaculating in the vaginal canal, every imaginable sort of contraceptive in person and out of their wrappers, as well as a discussion of their advantages and disadvantages (feeling, taste, odor, efficacy, etc.), plastic models, and more.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  •  After a period of intransigence regarding music , I was persuaded to go to London to The Cross nightclub , "blown away" by the atmosphere & music , felt like I would live forever and fuck all in the real world mattered , wanting time to stop at those perfect moments in time (cliched , but I can`t be arsed to rewrite the Bible) .

Music , mmm...I`m a progressive house kind of chap really , with a dabbled penchant for melodic dubstep . My `blown away` by music is quite different to others I`m sure , as is theirs to others and mine - so I won`t this once namedrop , Coldplay - The Escapist (Maor Levi's Starlight Mix) , feck , namedrop fail . Makes my spine shudder .

Sex education in school was a mechanical drudge .

  • Thanks for that link Iuventus.
Do we need another thread about our Sex Ed experiences or the things that influenced / traumatised us growing up? I think I can explain my history of depression, cynicism and confused sexuality on the fact that in the 80s , within the space of one month, I was exposed to-
    The childbirth video
    The AIDS campaign
The leaflet that plopped through the letterbox re How To Survive A Nuclear Attack (no room for a bunker in our back garden as DAd had dug ponds)
Both films shown at school - The Day After and Threads
Reagan ( no insult intended to those of a different political view to my own!)
Documentaries about chemical warfare and how the new plague would be released in the subways......
Oh dear, shall I go on! HEAVY!!
Anyway, I ramble and digress as usual....back to the thread please! X_X
  • I wasn't at all moved by my schools risqué approach to sex ed. My mother had shown us the diagrams when I was 8 or so. I was still somewhat naive about sex itself, but the anatomy and physiology of it was old news by then. Barry St James, however, might have lost his nut right there in class though if he'd had a little more privacy. I remember him laughing hysterically and looking down at his groin while saying something like, "And now we all have to examine our penises."
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Just been to the Scilly Isles and that place blows me away!
  • Well, I doubt anyone else will get too excited about this but, gravity and light are amazingly similar.  Both dilate time (actually gravity and approaching the speed of light) and both move at about the same speed.

Did you know that time moves slower because you are on Earth and affected by its gravity?

  • There is another phenomena observed in the teaching profession, and I'm assuming it's universal...that time slows down as the summer hols approach.
