  • Thanks Whickwithy I'll look that up. Talking of "pot!"' I even tried to deflect Daisy / Humphreys amorous attentions by putting a tortoise ornament in their environment- he kept humping it tho which made the lid loose lol.

You gave your tortoise a surrogate/sex doll equivalent?  Are there such things as Tortoise sex shops?

  • Probably....in Amsterdam at any rate. No, I was just using my imagination and trying to spare the little guy the indignity of being bulldozed by the big one. Repeatedly. >:)
  • So, you're sure the little one is a guy?  If so, I like the ornament idea.  Hahahaha!  Heck, nowadays, you could probably sell it on the web,  If it works for all species, you could get rich.  If you do, you owe me.

This is something that has interested me. I assume the times shown are BST and WW is in Maine, so 5 hours behind. I assume you posted this around 9.20pm WW? I have noticed there are phases on the board. Brits in the evening and then our colonial cousins late night/early morning with comments to be found next morning?

  • UT's right, Kat.  I'm in Maine and it was about 9pm.  Funny thing is that is very late for me.   And, while concerned for your turtles, no, I wasn't losing sleep over it, though I did stay up godawful late last night.

  • Lol that's a relief! I'm sure the little critters would be v touched someone over the pond was thinking of them anyway! Bet it's nice over there?
  • It's finally getting there.  It's been the longest winter, but I think spring has sprung.
  • Never been to Maine. It is on our list for fall trip to see the leaves in Vermont and pick up New Hampshire and Maine at the same time at some point. Closest we gave got was Boston last year after going to a gig at Madison Square Garden (Muse). We were there the week the bombers struck and only just got out on the Saturday morning of the big manhunt before they found him in the boat. We then went down to Cape Cod, stopping at Salem for a Witch fix. Found a fantastic little doughnut shop in Salem that made doughnuts that looked like cheese burgers and hot dogs. As you put it in your mouth, your brain was saying 'cheese burger' but your taste buds were saying 'doughnut'. Weird.

  • Just a point of note UT - we escaped on Friday and this was centre of Boston during rush hour - just needed some tumble weed and newspapers blowing around.image

Oh and this was the cheeseburger doughnut from Ziggy's!

What if the Hokey Cokey is what it's all about?
  • Yep, that's them.
    Brain. Cheeseburger. M'mmm
Mouth. Hey, that's weird. Tastes like a doughnut. M'mmm.
Mrs Ziggy Senior was a lovely woman. I think she wanted to adopt Mrs A.

If you look carefully in that top picture of Boston, you can see a couple of Zombies.

  • By far and away, the place to visit in Maine is Bar Harbor.  If you like woods and stuff, the other part of Acadia park on the other side of Frenchman's Bay is quite nice.  If you're driving through the Portland area, let me know, and maybe I could show you a few things, though I am a terrible tourist guide and I'm not terribly enamoured with my area as a tourist stop.

That's a remarkable picture of Boston.  What a feaky time to visit!

Especially when you realise that is 8 - 8.30am on a Friday morning.
