I am very sad cds are not on sale. I know demand would not be massive. Due to the younger generation. I almost feel as though the collection i have is sort of voided. Oh and the excitement of waiting for the cd arriving is missed too.

You could always try buying promo CDs? They are not quite the same, but surely serve as some sort of “consolation prize”. And at least you would have something to wait for! ;)

I tried asking on Twitter yesterday if they had any plans on releasing the videos for Jo, Laurel and Stranger at some point. Lisa liked my tweets, but besides that I didn’t really get a proper answer.

It seems like they might not even have concrete plans for the rest of the videos yet. Guess I have to save all of my excitement till August then.

I know. But people are making money when they should not be on a certain site.

  • Just finished watching Helen Mirren in, "Prime Suspect".  Wow!  How depressing!  Do a lot of British shows go the depressing route like that?  Loved the acting, the overall show but absolutely hated most of the endings.  Who wants to watch someone fail miserably?

The British do, it seems. We love a plucky loser ! Winning is viewed as being so...low class ! Better to have tried ones best and failed heroically than do something grubby like win.

What if the Hokey Cokey is what it's all about?

Wait! You mean to tell me that one only rents the cheeseburger pizza?

One probably only keeps the cheeseburger pizza for a short time before it has to be vomited on to the pavement.  In effect, it's only rented.

All in this whole pizza gate thread. Thanks for this. I laughed my cock off reading your comments and I will never think of H M the same again. I now know exactly what level to pitch my posts at.
    I salute you ^:)^

Thanks, UT!  I was really hoping I would get a straight answer to that question (well, relatively, anyways).  It really is fascinating to me how the U.S. has this happy ending mantra.  I can't figure out if it makes us immature or visionary - I mean, besides crazy.  Loved your Kipling quote, by the way.  It really hit where it counts.

Interesting stuff this two nations separated by a common language. It is not that the Brits don't like to win, we do. It is just that in any competitive endeavour, someone has to lose and if you do not win, you want to show you gave it your best. The journey is just as important as the destination. It what the Brits refer to as character. We never give up. Love your country by the way. Been there many many times. At the last count, we had done 25 states I believe.

Yeah, it is.  I can't quite grasp it but it seems there is something there about tragedy which can be learned from and, yet, it also just puts a crimp in things.  I'm so far off in my own little world, though, that I guess it just can't get traction at all.
  • What is the difference between fur, hair and wool?
This has been a recurring topic of conversation on long car journeys for some years and we have yet to come up with the definitive answer.
We really need to get out more !

  • Fur limits its length and hair doesn't?  But, if you say wool is curly, as opposed to hair, then I know some people with wool on their heads.  Seems like a great travelling converstation.  Better than counting telephone poles or "perdiddle/perduddle" (a game in which you look for cars with left llights missing (perdiddle) or right).

My dog (Dakota, black Labrador retriever) has very short hair that does not grow any longer. Does this mean he has fur instead if hair? Wool is generally found on sheep but also Alpacas and Angora rabbits. Why is this not fur?
A long running question to be sure. Perhaps we should introduce you to I Spy !

  • Errr, a great TV show?
  • Has I Spy not crossed over to the USA? Maybe by another name, as you call 'Where's Wally', 'Where's Waldo'?
One passenger in the car says, 'I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with G'. The other passengers then take it in turn to guess by offering things they can see beginning with G, until one guess correctly. In this case, I was thinking gear stick (gear shift although you may call this stick shift).
Great for kids. Limited appeal for adults !

  • Has anyone else noticed a massive dropoff in spam the spam folder of email accounts?  I use both gmail and Yahoo and the spam in both have just about disappeared.  What a relief!  I always worry something I really want is going to get buried in there.
  • Ok, here's my current dilemma- any tortoise owners out there?! I have two Horsefields, that I had believed to be females, but now they are older it's become apparent that they are both male. The larger one is being v aggressive towards the smaller, it may be a phase as it's that horny time of year again! I don't have the space sadly to segregate them if it continues. Would it be better to keep just one, do tortoises need a mate to be happy, is there any way I can calm them down?! Of all the places I've looked I still haven't found the best answer to this pretty basic question.
It's upsetting enough that I've had to rename Daisy and Nelly Humphrey and Herbert!!
  • Have you tried googling "aggressive turtle"?  I came up with some interesting articles in that manner.  Same thing with "aggressive horsefield turtle".  It looked interesting, at least, though I'm not sure it will give you a solution.  Blowing pot in their faces might do it.  Used to work for me.  JK, sort of.  I did read, though, that living singly, for a turtle, is just fine for them.  At least, that's what it said.  They won't die off like Parrots being alone.

Howdy, Stranger!
