Perception is reality.  And, I should add, there is such a thing as changing perceptions.  Good job, PG.

Advertisements are just soooo far from reality. I mean hell, we got a fake-ass CGI lizard selling us car insurance here in the States. You really don't know what the hell you're getting. I'm mean who knew about Loreal? People still haven't a clue. If we really knew what these companies were about, or even what the actual products were made of....we'd flip! Try looking up the ingredients in "Mountain Dew"...you'll shit. It's a fucking cancer cocktail...there's nothing Mountain Dew about it. It's fantasy! Most people trust these brands...why?!

I know, I must stop myself as well....I'm headed into rant territory. One last thing...I find it highly ironic that all the "pink" support for breast cancer..ie. dying hair pink, pink sports drinks,etc..use alot of artificial Red dye, which is a carcinogen.

People trust the FDA...if it's on the shelf, it's ok. It's almost impossible to tell with genetically modified organisms. I could go on...but people trust these companies and the government. Honestly we should be able to, but that's not the case.

One of the most hideous responses I've gotten is, "But my kid won't eat anything else." Sometimes, I want to disembowel people like that.

That is the beauty of the internet, PG.  If it evolves as it should, people will know a lot more from lovely little comments like your own.  It's really pretty amazing that all the knowledge of the world is at your fingertips.  It wasn't that way 30 years ago!  Yes, it still takes an effort but it's a long way from having it all forced down your throat as it was not so long ago.  The access to information, today, is astounding and it is becoming more difficult to mask reality through advertisements and propoganda.  Of course, there are still plenty of forces that are, also, becoming more blantant with their disinformation campaigns, as well. 

I kinda view humanity as an entity that, not so long ago, was in the embryonic and infant stage.  Over the past millennium, we have progressed from the childhood stage to the adolescent stage.  And, now, we are getting, at least, near the beginnings of maturity.  Our toys are becoming way too dangerous for little children to play with, so we'd better grow up.  And, efforts like yours, as insignificant as they may seem to you, are good.  Don't run and hide in Alaska, if it's for the sake of hiding.  It's a beautiful place, if you have a reason to go there, go for the beauty of it, though I think the effects of global warming(speaking of the disinformation being thrown around by the deep pockets of oil magnates) may be quite depressing.  Then, again, in Maine, I'm kinda thrilled by the idea of global warming.  Portland could be the mediterranean of the 3rd millennium!

A funny story.  I was visiting Shenzen, China, and while we were driving towards the customer's office, I happened to notice a billboard.  Nice picture of hard-working people or some such and, at the bottom, there was an assignage: "brought to you the the department of propoganda".  Really!
