  • In view of what is said in another thread, some people probably want me to say something completely different, add some interesting new viewpoints and totally disagree with Whicks' need for a return to an up-tempo album.

But… I think the same! An album full with tracks like Beautiful and Ride a white horse would be absolutely great! Well, maybe they will do it. Goldfrapp albums never sound like their predecessors, so who knows, Whick!

  • I feel like something up-beat would be nice for the next Goldfrapp set.

Last time they did that, they were nearly sent off on a rocket.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Ummm, I was actually thinking more like "Number 1", "Monster love", "Crystalline Green", "Pilots", "Shiny and warm"  and "Strict Machine".  But, yeah, Beautiful" and "Ride a white horse" works, also.  Cheers.  "Rocket"s good too!
  • Monster Love and Pilots are upbeat?
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Hahaha!  Errrr, maybe not...so, maybe upbeat and dreamy.
  • Dreamy? Like Tales of Us?
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Yeah, exactly what I was just thinking.  Hahaha!  Oh, well, so skip "Pilots" and "Monster love" as examples.  Still need a chagrin emoticon!
  • Really would like to go back to the BC SN era!!!!!!

Seems like we're on the same wavelength.  Do you have a good description, Jozzy?  It seems mine was lacking?
  • I'd like to see something more electro/dance as the basis of the next album, but am a bit skeptical it's going to happen, then again I'd like to see that alternative rock sound of 'Alvar' explored even further. I'd also like to see the follow up to Tales of Us happening a bit sooner this time, not that I want them to feel time pressured or anything, but there is a bit too much of a gap between albums for my liking.

  • Yeah, me too, Border_mind.  I feel like the days of electro/dance are long gone.  Too bad.  Funny, actually, that I didn't follow the main theme of the thread, what's next, rather than what I would like to see next.

I think you are right on target.  I'm guessing you may get your wish.  I feel like Goldfrapp is in a groove now and may stay there.  That's fine too.
  • I think Tales Of Us is going to be the main thing for a while now and a follow up album will be at least two years off, ah well as I say I wouldn't them to feel rushed into making a follow up, as much as I want one to happen sooner.

  • Personally i'd like the next album to be something inbetween 'Seventh Tree / Tales Of Us' and 'Black Cherry'... not too 'On the nose' (like Head first), and not too dreamy (Tales Of us). Hope it will be a sophistaced mix of both in the end somewhere. Cant really describe it really ... something between the poppiness of 'Happiness' (which is amongst my fav poppy tracks ever made by anyone !) and the dreamyness of 'Cologne'.
Maybe a 'covers' project with tracks that have inspired them over the years .. or some other (concept) project ??
Oh well, goldfrapp have never repeated themselves so i trust on their intuition (as long as it's NO Head First #2!).
    Cheers.

Well they haven't touched country yet..(thankgod, although an intimate duet with Taylor Swift could be nice)
