01. Voicething: One of the most beautiful things that they've ever done. It perfectly encapsulates the euphoric atmosphere that the album was going for.
02. Dreaming: Reminds me of Human League in the best possible way.
03. I Wanna Life: Perfect '80s pastiche.
04. Hunt: Had this song been produced differently, it could have easily fit onto Black Cherry or Supernature.
05. Shiny and Warm: See above.
06. Head First: Schmaltzy as hell, but so lovely.
The three weakest songs on the album are the three singles, in my opinion. How did Alison put it? Too "on the nose"? Yeah, these three fit that description. Interesting how they were all lumped together at the front of the album.
07. Believer
08. Alive
09. Rocket: There are elements of this song that I like, but as a whole it's probably my all-time least favorite Goldfrapp song and the only song on Head First that I actively dislike.
All in all, Head First is their most immediate album. Not very challenging at all. Because of this, unfortunately, I feel that it is the weakest and has the least staying power of all their albums.

I had a king in a tenement castle, lately he's taken to painting the pastel walls brown. He's taken the curtains down. He's swept with the broom of contempt, and the rooms have an empty ring. He's cleaned with the tears of an actor who fears for the laughter's sting...
This list has transposed greatly since release. This is because I sometimes play the "big hitters" like Rocket to death and then become a little bored of them......
1. Head first 2. Dreaming (I love the Casio drumbeat which is subtly placed into the mix and the fact that the song is very bass heavy) 3. Rocket 4. Believer 5. Alive 6. I Wanna life (I never used to be too keen on this but it's definitely a grower mainly due to the last 59 seconds of the song) 7. Shiny And Warm 8. Hunt 9. Voicething
