I have a pretty good hi-fi, but headphones that are held together by cobwebs. :( Tempted to buy a decent pair in order to appreciate the nuances of albums such as this.

I have an old but trusty pair of open-back Sennheiser HD-238's used at home for just such things (and they are right this second for the TOU ones). With being 'open' you get a nice wide soundstage and well handled bottom end (oooooer, matron!) though obviously they'd annoy everybody if used in public.

I really want a pair of HD 598's for home but the £150 price scares me off. Might treat myself if my art sells well at Christies next month!

On a different TOU note, it's an odd turn-up that the most diverse album in terms of Alison using separate characters may be their most cohesive overall.

I think they deserve credit for reining-in the hooks. Dog knows they can do them! I imagine master-twiddler Will with his catchy knob set to nought, and the subtle dial cranked to max. :)

Me too. The initial "hearing a new album for the first time" feeling has worn off and I know the songs so well by now, but I can't stop playing it.

I bought the album on Amazon.com, is there any digital booklet coming? I really want the lyrics and artwork.

Thanks, did you transcribe those from a CD booklet? I'm really shocked that Goldfrapp didn't put out a PDF like they did for Seventh Tree.

Errr, I bought the CD and the handwritten lyrics were in the pak.
