    It amazes me that she wrote that when she did so far in advance of how things are now.

    This is very true Cervus. I am just purely speculating but the internet was perhaps in it's very early stages at this point and there is a sound effect similar to the old dial up modem, maybe she was already aware of the internet? Or maybe not, but either way very much ahead of it's time, I do prefer the original rather than reworked version if I am honest though.

    Yes same here...She may well have been aware of it in its embryonic stage but to foresee how it could affect some people so early on is quite stunning,

    I hadn't really thought of it like that, she is a bit of an HG Wells/ George Orwell then, in so far as making prophetic commentary eh.
