There's a review in the Musik Express issue I received today that hasn't been posted yet. I typed it all out and put it into Google Translate, I tried my best to round out what they are trying to say.

Electronica between synth and ambient pop: the seventh album by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory

(With) Goldfrapp it never gets boring. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory have at least three different (brands/sounds), who sometimes play ambient pop, especially on their debut album Felt Mountain from the year 2000, disco, synth pop and meta folk, and sometimes everything. Often the (coloring of the album) cover already indicates the direction. The last album Tales of Us from 2013 with its black-and-white artwork was a statement of folktronic darkness. In contrast, the arty and colorful cover of the seventh Goldfrapp album Silver Eye symbolizes this musical (dialect). The first single Anymore is a synth (pop track) with techno-like undertones, while Tigerman rounds (out) as flat ambient pop. Between these poles, the album moves, keeping (one) eye on the club, while the other (spills) on wide soundscapes and Alison Goldfrapp, in her chilled (voice), (gives) you bittersweet insight. The coarse trump of this band is, however, that their music, even if it refers in point to contemporary developments, is always consistently out of time. That is the reason why we can still hear Goldfrapp - and dodgy (?) no more.

Dodgy were / presumably still are a group from the 90s here in the UK. That's where the comparison ends!

I could not agree more.

But now I'm desperate to hear "Everything is Never Enough" in it's entirety after reading it could have been written for Madonna! Sounds awesome.

Seems like more reviewers are receiving the album in a protected streaming link. Expect more reviews soon :)

From a first listen of a person there, his opinion is that the weakest songs are Anymore and Ocean. The rest is really good :)

"I received my copy for review this morning (I say my copy for review but it's actually only a protected stream). The album is great people. Panic over. Anymore and Ocean are the weakest songs on there. The production is seriously incredible all the way through. Everything Is Never Enough is the standout after my first play. It appeals to my love of late 70s/early 80s synth pop. I'm feeling very relieved right now."

"Everything Is Never Enough" was my favourite new track live at Oxford. I can't wait to have it.

It sounds like the reviewer only skipped through it, with sentences that show a complete lack of understanding like "Ocean is littered with static, and Faux Suede Drifter is defined by its indecipherable lyrics"
