Alison interview with Lauren Laverne BBC 6 Music
  • Apparently, this track from Boards of Canada - Reach for the Dead has been a big influence for Alison and Will recently.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

  • she also picked Caribou, Frances Bebey, Suicide and Siouxsie and the Banshees.......
  • She mentioned Polystyrene and X Ray Specs as an early influence although this was not played.
This was though, Francis Bebey - Fleur Tropicale Overheard in a bookshop while browsing !

  • Apparently, they started rehearsing for the live shows in Will's Garage, amongst the cans of Ronseal and the live shows will have some 'lovely lights'

And she is sitting in for Guy Garvey this Sunday afternoon as well, but the last track played was Brian Eno and David Byrne - the Jezebel Spirit

  • Am I the only one who guiltily wanted them to end the show with the second single off Silver Eye?

it's the main reason I listened..... but no
  • Does anyone know the name of the song they played before Depeche Mode?
  • Beach House by Norway

  • Nice one with the Siouxsie inclusion. I feel as though I can hear something of Siouxsie's later works
(particularly tracks from The Creatures - Anima Animus and Siouxsie Sioux - Mantaray) in Anymore.

    It's a re-creation
    Again I live another life
    My imagination
    Can't cross the borderline
  • Beach House by Norway

Norway by Beach House actually. A favorite band of mine beyond Goldfrapp.

Edit: I was also selfishly hoping for the announcement of the next single during the interview so that was a bit of a let down but soon enough anyway.
